Our Scholarship Programme provides outstanding prospective IB Diploma Programme students with the opportunity to take their subject of interest as a Pamoja Taught course.

Prospective scholars go through a two-stage process involving a written application form and a Skype or phone interview with members of the Pamoja Scholarship Award Committee, with only a limited number of scholarship places available. We’re absolutely delighted to welcome three new Pamoja scholars, who will begin their chosen subject with us in September 2019 and benefit from two full years of tuition fees covered by us.

We were highly impressed with the standard of applications this year, and invited our three successful scholars to tell us a little bit about themselves:

Scholar CarmenCarmen

“My name is Carmen and I live in Kuopio, Eastern Finland. I am 16 years old and I study HL Business Management here at Pamoja in addition to my classes at my IB school. Studying a course with Pamoja gives me new experiences and opportunities related to my future studies.”

Carmen will be studying Business Management HL with us. Carmen is a strong believer in the value of international communication and collaboration, developing other languages alongside her native Finnish.

Scholar Roby e1562249752942Roby

“My name is Roby and I am in Grade 11 at North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek, Florida. I am passionate about the hospitality industry, travelling, and my school community. In the hospitality industry, guest expectations are constantly evolving. Therefore, by partnering with world-leading organisations to leave a long-lasting positive impression on people’s lives, I am constantly utilising creative methologies and my outgoing personality. This way, I can follow my dreams in this modern world.”

Roby will be studying Business Management HL with us. His goal is to move into the Hospitality Management industry, and takes his commitment to entrepreneurship seriously: from requesting an internship in his school’s food department to breeding his own chickens (pictured!)

Scholar Mara e1562249878281Mara

“Hi! My name is Mara. I am from the Netherlands and speak Dutch and English. I love to learn languages, so I am working hard on improving my French and Spanish (and a little bit of German). A fun fact: I am very tall, even for Dutch people… I love mathematics, nature (especially hiking), art and design.”

Mara will be studying Business Management SL with us. A passionate linguist, Mara is keen to set up her own international business one day – she has already trialled small business projects based on her sewing, craft, and design skills.
