Hey, Josh again back for another intern blog post. It’s been a while since my last post (three months) and I’ve been really busy. A lot has changed since my last intern blog and I’ve been moving around the office a lot.

My time within the Development team was so insightful, I learnt lots from working with them. They gave me a great opportunity to work on projects such as School Services dashboards; I helped to work on the orientation dashboard and the term reports & engagement surveys dashboard. This process included gathering user requirements, creating user stories and then handing them over to development.

It was also great to work with Draego, an Oxford University micro intern who was with Pamoja for one week. We conducted a project to find out how students are currently using content both offline and online. We carried out seven interviews with students and the feedback we received was really insightful.

Within January I spent two weeks working with the Finance department, and this time was really beneficial to me as I was able to gain a further understanding of finance within a business environment. In this time, I completed petty cash reconciliation, Barclaycard reconciliation, fixed asset confirmation, 1099 tax forms, VAT return and general finance admin. A big thanks to the Finance team for giving me great insight into your department.

The remainder of my placement will be spent with the Marketing team. I have currently been carrying out a variety of tasks which includes a social media report which led to changes in the social media strategy, the sourcing and drafting of social media content using Sprout Social and the review and edit of the Pamoja information on the official IB website. I am now currently working on the creation of a new SBC newsletter and the creation and distribution of SBC goody bags with Emilie.

That’s all from me this month, watch out for the next intern blog!
